We bought a Dell Studio laptop today and after turning on the shiny 15″ laptop, stepped through the usual Windows first time setup and configuring access the Internet, it was time to think about putting some applications on the jet black machine.

Since Dell studio comes pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Premium, I wondered if Office 2003 would install and run on Vista. I am still using Windows XP Professional and Office 2003 at work so I wasn’t sure if Vista and Office 2003 would work together.

After googling, I learnt that you can install Office 2003 in Windows Vista environment and it will run. Hurrah! I can’t imagine if it didn’t. I would then be running around frantically looking for Office 2007 that will cost me £££.

Yes it is compatible and I am going to install Office 2003 on Vista now.
