Dropped your mobile phone or iPod in water?

My mate sent me a solution on how to fix a mobile phone or iPod if you accidently dropped it in water. Fortunately, this did not happen to me but it is worth knowing anyway. The first question that came to mind when I read the email from my mate was, is it possible to do a DIY fix to a mobile phone or iPod that pathetically drowned itself?

Some of you like myself may think this is a practical joke and have a good laugh but in times of desperation to save a drowned gadget, this solution might just work :)
