According to French law, all mobile phones sold in France have to be offered unlocked. This means a UK buyer can go to France, buy an unlocked iPhone and use it in UK with their mobile provider of choice and not pay the £35 tariff offered by O2. Would Apple let UK buyers get away with this? Most unlikely not. Apple will definitely come up with ways to prevent this from happening. We shall wait to find out how Apple will overcome this loophole.
